July 24, 2017, We are definitely in Tennessee hill country, two lane roads, hilly and winding. However all the older homes have porches and on the porch is either a swing, rocking chairs, or straight back chairs. Sometimes there is a mix of two of them and sometimes even all three. We had to make a few stops and one of the tires on the car is splitting and needs to be replaced. We found a Wal-Mart in Oneida who can have the tire tomorrow so we head off to Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area. The road in is very twisty with...

Jun 23, 2007 - Clinch Mountain Tennessee

Al and I have just left Rick and Leslie's "compound", in the mountains of Tennessee. They moved there permanently about three months ago, and are slowly making it their home. Their acerage is beautiful, and we were lucky to have arrived at a time when we could give them a hand, preparing for their electrical inspection. They are living in a portion of what will eventually be a workshop/guest cottage. Their long-term plans are to build a log home on top of the hills on their property.
