Sep 17, 2008 - TRIP SUMMARY

With this letter I will conclude our four month journey to Montana and back to Tennessee. We arrived home yesterday afternoon, safe and sound. So I thought I would conclude this section of journal logs with a few facts and figures of what we did and what our next plans will be. We drove 12,740 miles on our trip. We bought/used 968 gallons of fuel. Our average fuel mileage was 13.2 mpg. We were gone 148 days and stayed in 24 different Campgrounds/RV Parks. We visited 13 states and two Canadian Provinces (Alberta and British Columbia.) We...

Apr 30, 2008 - The Jersey Boys At The St. Louis Fox Theater

After our 2-month hiatus at home in Brighton, Tennessee, we have begun a new rolling journey in our Fifth Wheel home. We are heading to Northwest Montana for the summer. Our first stop is Farmington, Mo., where we are visiting Don’s mother and sister. We are staying at Hawn State Park, which is a lovely spot with large trees, a nearby stream, and many Missouri rocks. We are about 15 minutes from Farmington. The weather has been quite cool, but Missouri is in total spring bloom. The white dogwoods, pink redbuds and tulips are lovely. Willie...

Mar 5, 2008 - LOUISIANA AND MISSISSIPPI (On our way home)

We have safely arrived back in Brighton, Tenn. We have come home to cold temperatures! Many places received snow, so I guess we are lucky we did not see that! But after four months of warm temperatures, it is a shock to the system! Our friend, Jerry, had the house nice and toasty for us, by turning up our heat. We spent last evening trying to sort through mail. All is well here, so that is good. We left Nacogdoches, Texas in rain, and spent all Monday traveling in rain. We traveled east on Highway 21. It follows the El Camino Real de Los...

Jul 1, 2007 - The Natchez Trace

We are back home in Brighton, Tennessee. All was okay when we got home. We had had so little rain while we were gone that it had not been necessary to mow the glass. Don mowed it yesterday and we had a thunderstorm, so the grass is much greener and prettier. The Electric Company had trimmed our tree in the front yard while we were gone, but it still looks pretty good. The water line to the refrigerator icemaker is frozen and not making ice. We think we need to defrost it for a while and that unjams the ice line. Our microwave had also...

Summer 2007

May 30, 2007 - Tuscumbia, Alabama - Helen Keller's Birthplace

We are back in Tennessee for a few days. We had a small adventure on the way home from Erik and Julie's wedding. I took some pictures and thought you might enjoy them. As for our plans, we will be leaving Tennessee for Bumpass, Va. to visit family on Friday, June 1. Remember that we have very little cell phone service and no email while we are there. If you need to contact us, call my parents, Joe and Beulah Dymacek, 540-872-3474. After Don carried Kara to the Pensacola Airport for her 6:30 AM flight to Madison, we headed north through...

Summer 2007

Aug 8, 2004 - First day on Florida Trip.

On the road early and headed for our first stop near Memphis, Tennessee to visit the area I lived in north of there. We arrived early in the afternoon and found an RV park near Millington, Tn. for the two nights we would be there. We had told one of our chat friends we were coming and he said to contact him when we arrived so we called him, and met him in Covington, TN. a few miles north of our RV park, and arranged to meet with him and his daughters the next day for lunch at a restaurant in Millington. The rest of that day we spent...
