Oct 8, 2017 - TT Cherokee Landing, Middleton, Tennessee

Running from Hurricane Nate was easy, just point the coach north and west and keep going till you're out of the "cone of danger" the National Weather Service shows on TV! This is the third Hurricane we've had to dodge or wait out in the last 7 weeks. You remember we stalled up in Indiana to wait Harvey to drift on to the northeast. Then there was Irma we had to wait for while in Bowling Green and now Nate. Quite the season for firsts on our account. One afternoon, we were sitting by our main window and then a sudden thud on the window next...

Sep 30, 2013 - Lazy Week

On Monday I was going to leave Branson and go to a Corp of Engineers park near Little Rock. BUT with the government shut down I drove farther than I wanted to. Cherokee Landing a Thousand Trails campground is where I finally stopped. I am about 60 miles east of Memphis. Other than visiting with neighbors I have not done much this week. Candy loaned me a book to read that she thought I would like. I am not a big reader but have read some of it. Found it interesting in the first 3 chapters he stated he was from Brownfield, TX. I have camped...

Sep 30, 2013 - Cherokee Landing: Saulsbury, Tennessee

NACO Cherokee Landing: Saulsbury, TN (1-1/2 hours east of Memphis) Arrival: 9/30/2013 Departure: 10/14/2013 This is our first park that we sent 2 weeks in this year. It is a very laid back park with not much going on. We loved the deer and peacefulness of this place. The people we met at this campground were really nice, we had dinner with them all one night at the local diner and had a campfire another night. Memphis is about 1-1/2 hour away. I got to spend my 50th birthday in Corinth, Tennessee about 45 minutes from the campground and...

Aug 17, 2010 - Power

Or the lack of Power. After watching lights fade and the AC going in and out, we have made the decision to leave this so called resort. I sent a email to Resorts of Distinction making them aware of the sad shape this facility is in and that it does not meet there high standards. I don't know if this will make any difference, but it made me feel better. I found a COE campground south of Memphis in Mississippi that will work well until I need to be in Tunica. Until next time.......

Aug 16, 2010 - Heading West

We left Natchez Trace Thousand Trails Preserve a little later than usual. We decided to drive the parkway south to Waynesboro and then go west to Middleton, TN Well, I made it to Savannah, only problem, this one is in Tennessee. They had a Lowes, for which we promptly stopped as they are the only place that I have been able to find Damp Rid in the hanging bags. Thanks Phyllis for the tip! Remember we are in the south and the humidity is unbearable! Soon, we found are way to Cherokee Landing Thousand Trails Preserve and immediately I was...
