Apr 19, 2019 - Day Trip: Ruby Falls, Tennessee

We are concentrating our time in Chattanooga at Lookout Mountain. It rained most of the night. There is a chance of rain today. We unhook and take the RV to Ruby Falls. Our timing is good. An elevator takes us underground. The walking is not bad. There are some steps and some low points but easier than yesterday. We have a great tour guide. The main attraction is the underground falls. They are worth the price of admission! After our tour, we drive the two miles to the Incline Railway. There is a half hour wait time. We have had a full day...

Apr 18, 2019 - Day Trip: Rock City, Tenneesee

Today we visit Lookout Mountain. We get the bike out. We take the back roads to the mountain. The weather is perfect for riding. There is no traffic. It is a little longer ride than we are told but doable. We cross from Georgia into Tennessee. Lookout Mountain is a mountain ridge located at the northwest corner of Georgia, the northeast corner of Alabama, and along the Tennessee state line in Chattanooga. At the top of the ridge, there are three major attractions: Rock City, Ruby Falls and the Incline Railway. We visit Rock City. We have...

We decided to do another tourist thing today and visit Rock City. I've never been there and was quite surprised with what we saw. Rock City is a large area on top of Lookout Mountain with trails that wonder between the large granite rocks. We had a great time on the trails. It was very beautiful, but damn hot and humid. When in the rock passages it was nice and cool. The trails wonder above...

Apr 19, 2010 - Look Out Mountain, TN

Up and on the road by 8:30. Stopped at McDonald's for breakfast. Didn't have cream for Eleanor's tea. Wouldn't even open a carton of milk for her with out charging her! Not a good start to the day. 12:30 made our way up Look Out Mountain. Many beautiful homes. Some were built right on top of rocks. Stopped at a Starbucks (Yes right smack dab in the middle of the mountain there is a Starbucks)! Then continued our trek up the mountain. Was well worth the climb! Outstanding view! Just before we reached Macon we stopped and had a Dairy Queen....
