May 6, 2009 - "Hike Your Own Hike"

"Hike your own hike" is the mantra of thru-hiking and means that you are free to hike the Trail in the way that most satisfies yourself. Lu and I have come to find out that this saying is very true. We have hiked together for a month now and have just recently parted ways. No, we did not have a huge a fight or anything, we still are great friends...we simply realized that we were trying to hike each others' hike and not our own personal hike. We mutually agreed to split up and hike with others whom were hiking more like our own individual...
