Weather: Cool…..Highs in mid 80’s, Lows in the 60’s Howdy Family and Friends: Here we are in Cumberland County Tennessee on top of the plateau! It is roughly 65 miles from Maryville. We thought we would take in a few days of cooler camping after all the campers left the park here at Cumberland Mountain State Park. The park is quiet and peaceful immediately after a big holiday blow out. We love this park, and have all ways enjoyed coming...

May 27, 2008 - Cumberland Mountain State Park 05-14-08

Cumberland Mountain State Park was created as a recreation area for the Cumberland Homestead residents. The Cumberland Homestead was part of President Franklin Roosevelt’s “New Deal” during the Great Depression. Cumberland Mountain State Park is south of Crossville, TN.

May 1, 2008 - Cumberland Mountain State Park

From Cumberland Mountain State Park, near Crossville, Tennessee, between Knoxville & Nashville. Picking-up from the end of the previous journal entry, where I was waiting for my requested work to be finished at the Freightliner shop……. Just as I was completing the posting of that entry, I was notified that the Phaeton was ready to go. An issue arose when I reviewed the invoice, but I will hold comment of that situation while the Service Manager has an opportunity to respond. After leaving the Freightliner shop, we had about a 50-mile ride...

We're Wingin' It

Jul 5, 2005 - Cumberland Mountain State Park, Tennessee

We loaded up the grandkids and headed north to Cumberland Mountain State Park. When we got up there, the lady at the campground desk told us to take any spot, so we inadvertantly took a handicapped location. I was so ignorant that I didn't recognize the sewer and water connections. Regardless, we made it OK. Storms were forecast for the area, so we left a day early.
