May 18, 2015 - Day 2

Left Clarksville May 18 @ 8:30 and the rain is pouring down. There has been flooding along the Ohio river and parts beyond. Crossed over into Illinois around 10:30. After riding and nothing else to see, lots of crocheting and playing with the selfie stick! YES, Sam had to have a selfie stick. Saw the arch in St. Louis and crossed over the great and mighty Mississippi. As with all campgrounds unseen, you just never know what you might end up with. The Clarksville RV park was nice and clean with gravel sites but just across the road was a...

Apr 5, 2015 - mostly driving

The plan to drive through Atlanta while everyone was at church celebrating Easter Sunday worked out just fine. The GPS says our shortest route is through Indiana, but for a number of reasons we are going to drive a bit more and avoid the Hoosier State. The finals of March Madness basketball take place in Indianapolis tomorrow, we will get to the eastern end of metro Chicago in Gary at the...

We have been across country several times but this is the first for taking I-24 and it has been a beautiful drive. We gained an extra hour, so when we got to Nashville, Bill wanted to get on the other side. I called ahead for a campground and...

We left Memphis this morning and on to Clarksville, Tennessee. We went by an exit for Casey Jones Home and Railroad Museum. Drove through Paris. The Tennessee River appeared very blue on one side and green on the other when crossing it near Paris Landing State Park. Still windy today, but again not as hard to drive in as it has been some times. Arrived a little before noon at Mike's house in Clarksville. We were greeted by a pack of dogs: Mike's two dogs, his roommate Andrew's dog and another dog that they were watching for a friend. We...
