We headed out this morning to get a small table for the deck. Ralph also needed tacks, glue, and insect spray. Since we were out, we decided to look at a place for Ralph to fish, both now and when we bring the boat up. So we drove and we drove and we drove. It really wasn't that far, but we had taken the circuitous route. Saw lots of beautiful mountain scenery and some streams and lakes that made Ralph even more anxious to go fishing! At the boat landing Ralph had a nice talk with the owner.... who has his big boat at Astor in Florida...

Nov 9, 2010 - A Five Bean Afternoon at Bush's Best

All I can say is we now know more about beans than we ever thought we’d know in our lifetime. After lunch Tony, Diana, Gene, and I piled into the car and made the short 8 mile trip over to Chestnut Hill for a look around the Bush’s Best facility. That’s Bush’s Best Baked Beans with Duke the dog trying to sell the family secret recipe. Chestnut Hill is the hometown of A.J. Bush, the founder of Bush’s Best. A.J. got his start in the canned food business pretty much by accident. He had opened a General Store in town and Stokley Van Camp came...
