Aug 16, 2012 - The Bad Lands

We checked out one of the KOA's restaurant for breakfast this morning. The food was good but the service was very slow, so we got a late start. We only had 140 miles to travel today to Midland, South Dakota, but we had a couple of stops we wanted to make along the way. The first stop was in Wall, SD, which several folks had told us not to miss. Their road signs were posted every two miles on I-90 and they intrigued us. What a unique little town. Their streets are filled with stores that are all connected, little cafes, western music playing...

Heading West

May 20, 2008 - Midland, SD

On Monday, we drove from Custer, SD through Badlands National Park (funky geography and a few cool animals) to Midland, SD. Throughout the day, we could feel the transition in geography from the West to the Midwest. About the time we reached the grasslands, we started seeing pheasants along the roadside ... very cool birds.
