We got a late start today and then had some errands to run at the Post Office and Walmart before we really hit the road after lunch. We headed north through southeast South Carolina toward Augusta. As it got late in the afternoon, it didn't look like there were going to be any places to stay over in Georgia so we pointed toward Columbia, SC and found a Yogi Bear Jellystone Park in Swansea, SC. Nice place, but pretty empty so it was quiet. It's along the Edisto River and they have 4 or 5 fishing ponds on site. Turns out they had no internet...

Jul 13, 2008 - We are on the way to Virginia

We have stopped in Swansea, South Carolina for the night. Had some more fun in Charleston Today. Went to the Waffle House for breakfast. I hd to lie to Sharon and tell her it was a great place to eat. The pictures will let you know if she liked her runny eggs and the overall atmosphere of the place. She hates me. Susan and I went for a one hour speed boat in the harbor and out into the ocean (it was fun even though the boat only had 1,000 horsepower). Nov 25, 2007 - Swansea, SC

On Thanksgiving day, we had a traditional meal prepared in a not so traditional way. We found out that local grocery stores carry Bob Evans (a homestyle restaurant in the midwest and east coast) prepared foods that only require a microwave to reheat. So we had Bob Evans turkey and gravy, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, green bean casserole, and pumpkin pie. It was a small family gathering with just the 3 of us, but we enjoyed it nonetheless.
