Mar 28, 2018 - The end of Paradise

Our last week at Paradise Oaks, in Bushnell, Florida was busy, as always. In addition to the usual yoga and trips to the pool & hot tub, we enjoyed a St Paddy’s Day dinner at the park and then listened to a show by Laughing Bird, a hubby & wife duo (he plays instruments including a harp guitar and she sings, does some comedy and plays a dulcimer). We sampled some of the food available at the park, from the canteen and from Poppy’s Food Truck (think yummy Mexican food!) We also had our last golf game at Sherman Hills and Michelle won again,...

May 15, 2017 - Day 4 Statesboro to Ridgeland SC 61 miles

Relatively easy day from the attractive Georgia city of Statesboro to Ridgeland SC. Light wind at our backs for a change. Had to use Google maps rather than Adventure Bicycling map today, and Siri took us on a dirt road shortcut that we tried to avoid, but ended up taking. There are many many dirt roads in Georgia, and not just driveways! We rode on quiet country roads today and it was hot - glad we have so many water bottles. At each gas station we fill them with ice and water but the ice melts within about an hour; the bottles are...

On January 5th we arrived back in SC with the car loaded with everything left in the Teton that we needed to bring with us. The trip back took us 5 days. Much easier traveling with just the car! We had to stay over in SC to get our things into the camper and have our walk through. Deciding where to store everything was (and is) a challenge. There's enough room, but access can be difficult. We're working it out. The pictures are actually from December when we had both the Teton and camper next to each other to swap stuff. Gives you a little...

Nov 29, 2009 - Our stay for several days in Ridgeland, South Carolina

We spent several days visiting family in Ridgeland, South Carolina and enjoyed it very much. We did a number of things that I neglected to take many pictures of. One of these was a visit to see the aircraft carrier USS Yorktown which is moored in the Charleston, South Carolina harbor. We toured the ship, had lunch aboard and generally looked around the ship. There is so much to see that we could have spent an entire day there. Another adventure was to visit River Street in Savannah, Georgia. This is a street along the Savannah River that...
