May 21, 2013 - Picked up my Euros Today!
Still in Pawleys Island! But, we are now just a few days out, as we leave on Monday. Today I picked up the Euros I had ordered at the bank. I love to look at foreign money, and think about the fun I will be having off in some exotic place as I spend it. Yesterday, my little travel bag for my watercolors arrived. Janice and I hope to carve out some time here and there to do some sketching and painting, as the other tour participants are not artists. I think the time has about come for me to stop talking about this trip, and actually do it! I...

May 15, 2013 - Janice, My Travel Companion, and Me
We are currently 11 days out from our leave-taking. This is a photo taken today of Janice Coward, my trusty travel companion, and me. We will meet up with our fellow travelers in Milan, and will be led by Larry Ligo, an art historian at Davidson College in NC. Larry advises that the focus of the tour is on art, gardens, great food, and we hope, great wine! Sounds like my kind of tour! Janice and I hope to be smiling like this as we return, as well. Fondly, Gail

May 14, 2013 - Trying again to load photo from I-phone
Hello Again, I think I have uploaded a photo from my I-phone into the computer and into the trip journal. Bill was right--there is a panel that slides open on the FRONT of the computer, revealing TWO slots that will accept my I-phone cord. It still has taken me about 45 minutes to figure out how to open the I-phone storage and get it to show up on the upload to the journal, but I think I have done it! Yes! Wish me luck! Fondly, Gail

May 13, 2013 - Downloading photos from I-phone still a mystery
I thought I understood how to download photos from my I-phone to this site, but when I tried this evening, I could not find a port for my USB cord. I had to pull the big box of the computer forward, and turn it around, but still could see no port, on the front or back. I imagine myself trying to do this in a foreign hotel. I used the STD card from my regular camera earlier, and that worked. Bill wonders if a hotel computer will be equipped with media slots. Hmmm...More to figure out. We leave two weeks from today!

Mar 21, 2008 - Boondocking in Pawleys Island
Left home around 11AM for the start of a two week adventure on the road with the "Cats". Both the two boats and the two pets! We spent the night with our good friends, Jose and Donna, boondocked in their driveway in Pawleys Island. This is our favorite stop when in the area! Donna fixed us a yummy dinner of broasted chicken and fixin's. Then we let Jose beat us at "LIVERPOOL RUMMY" not once but twice. Good Times, food and lots of laughs, as always!
