Apr 22, 2016 - Azores

We have been touring the Azore Islands the past few hours. We are now sitting down and eating lunch at a local restaurant. Julie and I are having the local stew that is cooked inside the hot springs of a volcano. We enjoyed touring a park with a volcano and many thermal springs. Our day in the Azores continued to be so picturesque. We drove past small villages, vineyards, and fields of tobacco, tea, and cows. Everywhere we looked, we saw lush green rolling hills and beautiful views of the ocean. We stopped at Cha Garreana tea plantation and...

Apr 19, 2016 - New Friends Aboard Ship

Just like Sun City, we've made a number of friends and here we are toasting the ship. We have gone to dinner a couple times with people we've met as well as partying with a few people, too. We even danced to Julie, Julie, Do You Love Me, the song Julie and I had as our theme song in college.

We made it home safe and sound. Our home survived us abandoning it for 2-1/2 weeks. As we turned onto our street, we remarked how pretty it looked. All the trees are in full bloom. What a nice greeting. Even if it is 92. I told Paul this was our "Devil Tour". We visited Devil's Tower, Devil's Lake and we drove 6,066 miles.

Nov 19, 2011 - Old Friends

Dave cooked his famous steaks and Lisa made some absolutely fabulous sides. A wonderful time was had by all. Sometimes it's just nice to sit around and talk with old friends.

We arrived at our friends' beautiful home in Sun City near Hilton Head, SC. The weather is very much improved. Since they knew that our intention on this trip was to see 3 of the major bodies of water surrounding the USA, they took us to Hilton Head Island and Paul posed before the Atlantic Ocean - 1 down, 2 to go.

Aug 24, 2009 - Naples to Bluffton and Savannah

On Sunday, I left Naples to drive to Bluffton, South Carolina, just north of Savannah, Georgia. The drive started out with beautiful puffy cumulus clouds in the sky, but it didn’t look like it would rain. About an hour later it was building up, and then I saw a partial rainbow. As I went further north, the rainbow became whole and there were a few sprinkles. I found myself fascinated with the billboards. I don’t think we have many in Arizona. Ads for lawyers, fireworks, and sex shops were in abundance, as were...
