Thursday, August 4, 2011--Troutdale, VA. --Jefferson National Forest We moved 131 miles eastward into the mountains of Virginia. A “medium” day for driving. Good road, mostly four lanes but very hilly and twisty. Our truck sure got a workout going up and down all these hills. I had to pay real attention to the task of driving. We are now staying in our very first ever National Forest. It is a very nice park, buried in the trees. Very nice campsite with a gravel pad. A little tough to back into, but I have seen worse. Feb 20, 2008 - Another stop on our way to High Point

Tonight we stopped for the night at one of our favorite "safe places" along the way, Flying J truck stops! Dave got to have one of his favorites for dinner, pecan waffle at the Waffle House! His mission is too make Rebecca a Waffle House junkie, too. Rebecca goes along as a good sport. But tonight she actually ate the same thing Dave ordered! Amazing but true!
