Jul 31, 2012 - Battleship Cove

Today we visited Battleship Cove in Fall River, MA. This is a museum of WWII ships. You can tour a destroyer, the USS Joseph P Kennedy, a submarine, the USS Lionfish, a battleship, the USS Massachusettes, and two PT boats. We were surprised by how big the PT boats were and truly amazed at the sight of the forward guns on the battleship. Went to Hyannis Port out on Cape Cod. Took a boat ride to see Kennedy compound. Fog came in so we could not see very well. Ethel Kennedy (wife of Robert) had put up a big white tent because she has a yearly fund raiser. Saw Joseph Kennedy's house were everyone grew up and which Ted Kennedy inherited when when mother Rose died. Ate lunch at Spanky's Clam Shack which was very good.
