Jul 26, 2015 - The Poconos, Hickory Run State Park

In spite of the fact that the Poconos are one of the most popular vacation/tourist areas in the crowded Northeastern United States, they are surprisingly un-crowded and welcoming. Our home at Hickory Run State Park campground is only about 50% occupied, and we are easily a hundred yards from the next unit. We were warned about bears on many signs here, but don't expect to see one up close and personal because we are very careful about food, and put the barbecue away each night. Aug 13, 2011 - we just made it in time!

We're 150 miles from home, camping at a beautiful campground on Mount Pocono. We got here around 3:45, and by 4:15 had everything set up for the night -- good thing, since it has been pouring down rain ever since. I just watched a woman try to guide her husband into a campsite close to us. She is outside in a bright red slicker, and he is in the rv. Jul 23, 2011 - Working on the Railroad

We headed north from Quakertown to White Haven, PA on Wednesday July 20th, and that afternoon drove over to Danville to visit Buzz’s nephew and his family. We ventured out to a new brew pub in town for some dinner, with plans to head over to their pool club afterwards.
