Got up this morning and after a good breakfast at Country Inn and Suites we got on the road by 7:30. We opted to go around Chicago a different way which added an hour to our travel time. Since we sat in traffic an hour last time I'm not sure which way is better. We didn't have the frustration of traffic but we also added 60 or so miles. And somehow what the TomTom said would be a 12:40 drive turned into 14:30 hours so even if you add the hour detour in it still took us much longer than expected. Glad to be home though. Jun 21, 2013 - Getting ready

Dad, Ashlyn and I picked up the van today. 15 passenger is a bit bigger than I'm used to but not as bad as I feared it would be (although I didn't have to really back up today :) Did some more shopping so that we don't have to stop for snacks too much. Got most of the van loaded. Kids are either in bed (the younger two) or trying to stay up all night (the older two). I need to get to bed too, we want to leave about 6 AM tommorow. Anticipating a 12 hour or more ride and I am looking forward to dinner at the restuarant I found online.......

Aug 3, 2009 - Punxsutawney Phil

We left Loudonville, OH this morning around 9am and headed toward Pennsylvania. Our plan was to arrive by early afternoon in Punxsutawney, PA. If you don’t know this town, you’ll recognize it soon. It’s where Phil lives. He’s the ground hog who predicts the weather on Ground Hog Day. On the way here, we drove through Canton, OH where the Football Hall of Fame is.
