We moved northward and spent this weekend in a campground in Portersville, PA, about forty miles north of the "Burgh." This gave us an opportunity to visit with old Chicago area friends, Linda and Jim Farmerie. Our visits with the Farmeries are always fun, but this one was especially good because we missed them on our trip through two years ago. Aug 31, 2007 - Geneva-on-the-Lake, OH to Portersville, OH

We made it down to the southern tip of Ohio and into West Virginia today. After about 10 miles in West Virginia, we arrived in Pennsylvania. It was enough to add two more states to our map. The countryside is rolling green hills, very similar to what we knew in New England. Two observations from our travels over the past few days is how the lawns are so large and beautifully kept and how many American flags are displayed. We're in a very tight campground on a hillside.
