Sep 14, 2010 - Travelin' Tarheels in PA
Sunday, September 12, was a cool, rainy day. It was a perfect day for worship and rest, as God intended. Several Travelin' Tarheel coaches arrived Sunday. There are eight now in this campground. Two more arrived on Monday, the first official day of our Travelin' Tarheels rally. The rain had ended Sunday and Monday was a beautiful day with highs in the upper 70s. To keep up our reputation of finding good places to eat, we all gathered at the campground late Monday afternoon and caravaned to the Family Cupboard in Bird in Hand, PA. for a...

Sep 9, 2010 - Around Town
A tree-lined road has always held an attraction to me. I couldn't help but take this photo. We are staying at the Spring Gulch Resort Campground, a mountainous location. The main roads are paved, but the side roads are dirt, as are the campsites. There are lots of trees around and between the sites, giving a woodsy feeling. We had heard several people recommend eating at the Shady Maple Smorgasbord, so we decided to have a late breakfast there. We enjoyed Eggs Benedict, made to order. Hmmmm...one of my favorite breakfast foods. There was...

Sep 7, 2010 - Travel to New Holland, PA
We left the KOA about 8:45 am and headed east again on I-70. The road soon joined I-76 and became the Pennsylvania Turnpike, which we followed for about 200 miles. We crossed the Susquehanna River, and went through four tunnels: Alleghany Mountain, Tuscarora Mountain, Kittatinny Mountain, and the Blue Mountain. It was good to see dairy farms again. We didn't see dairies out west, just beef cattle. We also saw cornfields and some hay fields. There was another crop, which we figured must be soybeans. When we exited the turnpike, it was time...

Aug 11, 2009 - country haven
Hello Everyone, We aren't in Kinzers anymore! Roamers was over booked for the Rough and Tumble shows, so we had to move and we are at a very beautiful spot in New Holland called Country Haven. It's very quiet and we have a shaded lot in the woods. We are awaiting Quality Matters to come hook up our tow package for the car, then it's westward ho for us. We will keep you all updated and even post pictures (when we get out of PA). Retirement Rocks! God Bless Nancy and Steve

Jun 28, 2009 - Amish Area, in Pa
We are now in New Holland, Pa...in the Amish area...we have been having alot of fun going to tours, flea markets, and Phily to see the liberty bell, and all the history in this area. The Amish families are interesting to see, and understand. Today being Sunday, we got to see all the families going home after church with their horses and families in their carrages. (hope I spelled that correct). What I admire is how the children still show respect, and family values...Back to Pa...such a beautiful state, or the area we are in...rolling...

May 9, 2008 - Club Campout: New Holland
Great turnout for the second Pleasure Seekers campout of the year! New Holland is north of Lancaster, right in the heart of Amish farm country. Everything is green now and fields are under cultivation in earnest. The winding roads to the campground are a challenge for the biggest rigs. We drove up Friday afternoon and barely squeezed by a gathering of Amish funeral-goers who had collected in front of their church dangerously close to the road. Those who arrived at the creekside Red Run Campground on Thursday got an early start to enjoying...

Sep 25, 2007 - Trip towards Mystic CT
Our trip started with a few unpleasent happenings. The most upsetting, of course, was the death of my brother. We were a few hours late leaving for our trip but caught up with the others in Lexington KY that evening about 9 PM. The next day we camped just south of Morgantown WV--the campground was not easy to get to--had a lot of trees to get around--not level AND when we went to put out our slide-room, it wouldn't go out. We had to push it in so we could travel on to Rally site. The next AM, Marv noticed out air hitch would not hold air so...

Jul 8, 2007 - Traveling Americans Camp Out
On Friday, Jul 6, we drove to Red Run Campgroung in New Holland, PA for the Traveling Americans monthly camp out. Drew & I were co-hosts with Bruce & Cricket McGinnis and had decided last month to keep it simple (meaning 'no cookin') since Mother Nature would be handling that for us. Bruce & Crickett had fixed Pot Roast with potatoes, onions and carrots and put it in a crock pot to cook all day. We had made some corn bread at home and the other attendees filled in with salad and desserts. It was perfect! There are only 7 couples here this...

Jun 6, 2007 - Spring Gulch RV Park - New Holland, Penn.
Spring Gulch RV Park in New Holland, Penn is a Coast to Coast park that seemed more like a state park with nice secluded, wooded sites. This was primarily a rest stop. The only thing if signifigance that occured was our micro/convection oven dying. Don't know what the problem was as it just quit working. I called the distributor and was told it would most likely cost as much to repair as to buy a new one. I ordered a new one to be delivered at our next stop.
