May 1, 2012 - My Heroes

When I was a child my heroes were firemen, policemen, soldiers and cowboys. They faced danger and they were unafraid. They did the things I wanted to be able to do...they ran into fires, they chased bad guys. I have new heroes today. They are the friends we have who live with the loss of loved ones or the pain of sickness. The cowboys don't cut it anymore. My new heroes live with sadness and pain...but they don't burden us. Apr 30, 2012 - Yesterday Winchester...now Montoursville

Yesterday we were visited by Lucky, Slugger and their talking dog Einstein. Yes, a talking dog....and smart too. Unlike people, who say stupid stuff all of the time, Slugger explained to me the Einstein only speaks when he has something intelligent to say....no iodle chatter for him! We all went out for a Southern breakfast at a local spot in Winchester (except Einstein, who chose not to)...then we made a game attempt to walk off a few thousand calories.
