JoAnn drove most of the Louisiana interstate. We were only on it about 8 miles when I got bored with it. Flat, tall trees close to the road obstructing the view. You don't want to drift into the bushes as it looked wet, muddy and unfriendly. Most of the trees are pine. We hadn't seen a palm tree other than small ones at a nursery/garden center. At 9:30am the temperature was 53.6 degrees and the sun was bright. Cats seem to have adapted well. Diesel fuel is a bit pricey. The best regular gas we saw was 2.829 in Louisiana. Jan 12, 2008 - Start - Day 1

We're off on our Get-Warm 2008 adventure. It's been a grind the result of only allowing four days to get from Mystic, Connecticut to Houston and say Hi on the way to Aunt Marie in Fayetteville, PA. Some dumkopf did the trip planning. The first 24 hours featured no hot water, not because of any failure on the part of the RV but because the dumkopf, while sanitizing the water system, managed to open and leave the hot water bypass valve.
