Mar 30, 2015 - PDX to PHL

After an ungodly early departure, we successfully made our connections on our new domestic airline favorite, Alaska via Seattle, to Philly. Turned out to be a very polite flight. Upon arrival in phl, I wouldn't usually use Hertz, but hotwire came through and we has some surprisingly erudite shuttle drivers and baggage handlers, especially for phl. I was impressed (am I really in phl?) and I usually dread the whole rental deal. A good visit with my ma and sak performed the usual bevy of homers plus an appearance on Dirty Jobs as an erstwhile...

Jul 25, 2008 - Home at last!

Today we started the last leg of our epic journey! Home is within our reach! We traveled all day with only quick stops for food and gas. We arrived home at 7:15 PM. The final stats:7000 miles traveled, 675 gallons of fuel burned and an average of 10.3 MPG(Gas ranged from a low of $3.69 in Ohio to $4.32 in Utah). Not bad for an adventure that spanned 4 weeks, crossed 16 states, and 3 time zones. But just like Dorothy said in the Wizard of OZ, "There's no place like home!"
