After being sick with Lymes Disease and a urinary tract infection for over a week, today was my first full day back at work. I showed up at 7:30 AM to transport rangers up to Equinunk, which took about an hour. Then we stayed to get a free breakfast which was quite good, btw. I watched kayaks and canoes being set up at the launch area and found out that there were 100 participants on this first day of the Sojourn. This is the 24th year that a growing number of people get together to travel parts of the Delaware River on a multiple day...

Aug 10, 2014 - Canoes at Equinunk and a working sawmill

I had the privilege of going with Ingrid to the Equinunk Historical Society Museum to see the display of canoes belonging to members of the Wooden Canoe Company. They were happy to see her and she may have a new addition to the Zane Grey Festival next year because of her networking prowess. I should have asked to take a picture of the canoes, but I didn’t so I can only tell you that they were beautifully made and if I owned one, I wouldn’t want to take it out on the river to get dirty or banged up by the rocks. They even had wooden kayaks...
