I waited for the mail delivery this morning - still no mail from Texas. Spencer was on the phone with a client solving a major problem so I had to wait to say goodbye. Once on the road the rain was constant. I had to detour off 75S because of a truck/car accident. When I finally arrived at the Ohio Turnpike the rain really came down. From Toledo to Brookville, Pennsylvania there was constant construction. Even though workers weren't present two lanes went down to one. Merging took forever. Aug 11, 2009 - Was That Banjo Music I Heard?
We left Ohio and traveled through northwestern Pennsylvania today. We stopped in Titusville to visit the Drake Oil Well Museum on the site where the first oil well was drilled 150 years ago this year. It’s a pretty neat place and well worth the effort (steep uphill, narrow roads, with a one lane bridge) to get there. There’s an inside museum and displays of actual working oil well equipment around the grounds. It’s located right along the banks of Oil Creek. Nov 28, 2007 - A Short Day of Driving.
We travelled slowly today, gassed at a Flying J at noon, ate and decided to have a nap. Drove for a couple of more hours and decided to take a Motel Room tonight to have a nice shower. What a beautiful drive through I80 in PA. There is enough red left in the hardwoods to imagine how wondrous it was a few weeks ago. The hills were long and the old V10 was doing a marvelous job of keeping up with all the 18 wheelers. I don't want to think of the milage on this tank.
