Sep 7, 2011 - Visiting Amber & Family

The next day we drove all day in the rain and arrived in Quakerstown, Pennsylvania to visit our daughter Amber, Jed and our grandkids, Konner, Christian, and Kelly. They had just moved from Delaware the week before. We arrived on at the Quakerswood Campground with severe thunderstorms all around us. It had been raining there all day and the park had several flooded sites. We decided to stay at the park the first night instead of going out in the dark on unfamiliar roads with flooding all around us. The next day we drove over to Amber’s...

May 24, 2008 - Pennsylvania

Coming down the Pennsylvania Turnpike we enjoyed the lush green mountains after spending a time out in the desert it really is different. It was great to see all the kids again. They are once more moving (I think they are crazy) but young people have the stamina to do these things. Sage and Dylan are as cute as ever. Dylan is saying everything and has started potty training. Sage is very athletic, playing soccer and winning jump rope contests. We got to go to one of Ashley's concerts. She plays the french horn. She is a high school junior...

Oct 13, 2007 - Moving Day

Chris and Missy had lots of friends help them move. They discovered that they had a lot more "stuff" then they thought. We delivered drinks and food for the crew and were glad there were lots of young people to do all the lifting. We can't wait to see the house when they are unpacked and moved in.

Jul 22, 2007 - Pennsylvania and Leo Fest

We enjoyed a visit with Chris, Missy, Brian, Sage and Dylan. Chris's neighbor, Herman, invited us all to a great party which included great live music and food. The kids enjoyed dancing and singing all the old favorites (mostly 60's and 70's). Herman has an awesome band and some really talented musicians. The special finally was the fire stick. We had never seen anything like it. On a bed of hot coals the fire stick with four branches was set up. Within a few minutes fire was coming out the top of the main tube and in a short time each of...

Boy the kids grown quickly. Sage enjoys visiting with us in the Dragon. She and Grandpa Dick tease each other all the time. Dylan celebrated his 1st birthday the beginning of May and Sage turned 7 the end of May. Her parents gave her permission to get her ears pierced which she has been wanting for a long time. Daughter Pam is getting married in July and asked for a quilt to put on a grand piano during the reception. Also made a back pack for Missy with a fairy on it.

Dec 27, 2006 - Christmas 2006

Christmas in Pennsylvania. No snow but great times with family and friends. Dylan was cute as can be at 7+months and Sage entertained us with her quick wit. Everyone gathered at Chris, Brian and Missy's including her parents, brothers and their spouses. Some old friends also stopped in. There were lots of presents and the kids had a ball ripping them open. Sage lost her first tooth and showed off her smile. We finished packing up the Dragon and got on the road. We'll miss the kids but between phone calls and this blog we'll stay in touch...
