Oct 10, 2018 - Travel to Chambersburg, Pennsylvania

This day of travel was long (for us anyway). The day was warm but cloudy. Our day started at 9:30 and ended at 5:30. The drive through southern New York on I-88 and central Pennsylvania on I-81 was quite lovely (could have been more lovely with sunshine). The farmlands were expansive. The mountains were expansive as well. There is very little foliage color. 303 miles Twin Bridge Campground w/e; 30 amp; dump stations Direct Satellite Reception

Oct 15, 2017 - Pennsylvania

A few more states today...we left Wallingford, CT at 9:15 am....all the way through New York...and now we are in Pennsylvania. The day started at 20 degrees and right now it is still 24 degrees. A bit of fog and mist started the day until about mid way through the state of New York. Then sunshine and in some areas wnd. We made several stops for diesel, coffee and breaks. At one rest area we met up with Craig and Jackie...for the second time...they are from Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. We shared Walmart parking stories! Ours had a better...

Aug 19, 2015 - Heading south

We drove about 420 miles today coming from the Adirondacks and made it to lower Pennsylvania. We stopped at Caledonia sp which we had stayed at last year. (But had forgotten until we drove in). The temperature is great- in the 70s vs the high 80s all day long. Ate fresh italian sausage with a salad from the farm in ny. We'll make it home tomorrow and start planning the next excursion!

Fall Roadtrip - 2014

Apr 30, 2011 - Karen's Wedding

Today was the big day. Jay and Peggy left yesterday for Chambersburg, PA to get everything ready. We were left in charge of the kiffels and getting them to the reception in one piece. Personally, I was wanting to open them on the way to the wedding. They are soooo yummy. Peggy rented a large coach to take people from Nazareth to Chambersburg for the wedding since some of them would not have come because of having to drive at night. It was a nice ride. We had a hostess who served us lunch on the bus and it was a very enjoyable way to drive...

Sep 21, 2009 - Lincoln Highway Conference 2009

For my first trip to the LHA annual conference I decided to follow the Lincoln Highway as much as possible on my way to South Bend Indiana. My plan was to spend two days on the Lincoln in order to be in South Bend for Monday and the pre-conference drive of Lincoln sites that was planned for the South Bend area. Day 1 Since I had been on the Lincoln many times through eastern PA before and in order to save some needed time my trip started in Chambersburg PA where the Lincoln meets I-81. Chambersburg is a mixed area now with some efforts at...
