Jun 3, 2019 - Off we go!!

Well we left this morning around 11:40 AM. The Good Lord blessed us with beautiful weather for our 1st day of driving. Temps. in the high 60's & lots of sunshine! We did seem to have alot of construction zones to drive through with one lane driving. Didn't seem much construction work being done but alot of the road barriers & slow traffic. RV parky found us a nice SuperWalmart for over night parking in Bloomsburg, PA. Up on a hill with other stores at a place called Columbia Mall. It's very quiet & there are a couple of other RV'ers here....

May 21, 2016 - On the Road

Our first stop on our trip west was in Bloomsburg, PA to visit with our nephew Matt and his family. They have 2 daughters who are now starting middle school and high school and have become very nice young ladies. They were both able to join us for dinner before heading out to be with friends. We have had trouble finding a place to stay in this area, but did find an RV park only about 10 miles from where they live which was very nice – a little muddy but the area has had a lot of rain so that’s to be expected.

Oct 23, 2014 - Visiting with Relatives at Jon and Michele's

We headed over to Bloomsburg this afternoon to get together with the rest of the Pennsylvania relatives on their turf! Our first stop was at Jon and Michele's house where we all gathered. Peg and John Trathen came over from Catawissa. Peg is Lee's cousin on his Mom's side. Lyn and Sai came over too. We all sat around in Jon and Michele's living room and chatted for quite awhile and then headed out to The Turkey Hill Brewery Co. Pub and Grill in Bloomsburg. It's right next to one of the I-80 interchanges for Bloomsburg. The food was great....

May 30, 2014 - Stopover in Bloomsburg - Visiting With PA Relatives

We are heading toward our Workamping positions this summer at Interlake RV Park in Rhinebeck, New York. We need to be there on the 1st of June. Our first night after we left Iowa, we stayed in the Walmart in Lebanen, Indiana. They had signs posted that read "No Overnight Truck Parking", so Lee went inside and checked to see if we could spend the night. They said it was fine and so we parked behind a Motor Home that was also spending the night. It was a nice cool evening and perfect for roughing it without electricity and sewer, etc. We had...

Aug 3, 2012 - Ohio Trip - Day 1

Fred says: Hi everyone ---- We made it safe and sound to PA. and Robin only yelled at me twice!!!!! I did good. Left Dover at 6 am - not that Robin liked the idea of getting up at 5 (I was up at 4 - couldn't wait to get started. Very little traffic through Mass. Not until Hartford but not very bad. PA has the worst roads so far...thought I was going to lose the camper on some of those bumps. I got my first taste of "filling up" at truck stops. The truckers are not in a hurry! Must of waited 20 min. at the first stop. I think I am going to...

Jul 21, 2010 - Bloomsburg, PA

Stopped to fill gas at Flying J in New Milford, PA. We then proceeded to the Wal-Mart Supercenter - Bloomsburg, PA. It was pouring rain after our arrival. Also, discovered that the car battery had died from leaving the ignition switch in the ACC position overnight. So, I bought a jumper cable to start the car. Then I bought a 700 watt inverter to run the computer at night, so I wouldn’t have to run the generator too long. This was just an overnight stop, so we did not go anywhere in this city. GOD’S PROMISE FOR TODAY: GOD’S PEACE “You will...

May 23, 2008 - We've Arrived

It's been a long drive but we finally arrived and set up at Indian Head Campground in the afternoon. Then we called to let Jon know we had arrived. He, Michelle and Isabel and Lyn and Sai all came over as they wanted to see our house on wheels. Then we all went out to dinner at a Chinese Buffet in Bloomsburg. The food was good and they had crab legs so that was my dessert.

Our 2008 Travels

Oct 4, 2007 - Bloomsburg PA

This entry is primarily for my family(Clairese's). Since I had not visited since 1992, I decided to go to Bloomsburg, Pa on our way South. This is the area my father, your grandfather, grew up. He was born in nearby Danville, PA and Ray and I had dinner in a family restaurant in the town. I did take some pictures of where I think I remember Dad telling me where he was born and where his grandparents' restaurant was located. Until I do some more research however, I will not post those pictures. I did go to the home where we spent Easters...
