Jun 23, 2009 - Bellefonte PA

"Just" a driving day today. We left Toledo at around 9:30, and arrived here at about 4:30. Quite a few driving delays due to road work. Hard to remember that if they don't repair the roads, and rebuild them, we won't have any soon. The "little nag" really does give too much information sometimes. When we started off, it was predicting an arrival time of 3:15. By the time we slowed for construction, and stopped for gas and food and stuff we'd "lost" an hour and a half. Jun 9, 2009 - A really long Monday & No pictures

Monday morning started out just great, we had reservations at the Bellefonte/State College KOA in Bellefonte, PA about 170 miles from Hubbard, OH. The first 100 miles went by quickly, we drove interstate 80 all the way and except for a few areas of construction the trip was going well. At lunch-time we stopped at a Ponderosa in DuBois, PA. As we walked back to the motor-home after lunch we noticed a puddle of antifreeze on the ground……and thought, damn, that can’t be good, and it wasn’t. Bob was sure that the water pump had failed. The good...

We decided to top off fuel in Youngstown, OH since prices are escalating the further east we go...$2.529 here. We were relieved to find the roads much better in Western Pennsylvania and lots of construction projects were going on for further improvements. The rain is following us so we stopped in Bellafonte at a KOA; heavily wooded, yet amazingly we were able to get a satellite signal. We are going to have a down-day tomorrow to catch up on household chores, rest, etc. and wait out the thunderstorms that are headed this way. Then, our...

On Friday, we drove (in ugly, rainy weather) from northwest Ohio to Bellefonte, PA ... about 15 miles from the Pennsylvania State University campus. Along the way, we connected with Bruce's nephew, Kyle, by cellphone and coordinated a roadside lunch stop. Kyle was on his way to State College to work for the Big Ten Network at a Friday evening field hockey game. On Saturday, by 11am, we were parked at PA State and tailgating for an 8pm game. Kyle joined us before noon, and we spent the next 6+ hours watching college football on our satellite...

After a year of planning we are finally headed to Alaska with our friends Tom and Barb McLaughlin. After a leisurely breakfast at Shea's we stop to replace a windshield wiper blade that is hitting our new antennae. Now we're really on our way! We head to the Delaware Memorial Bridge, have a picnic lunch in Lancaster and stop at KOA in Bellefonte, PA.
