Dec 7, 2013 - Days 2-4: Cold and more cold

So the plan was to head down the I-5 after Bellingham, pop into the Camping World just south of Portland in Wilsonville, then see where we were at. We'd earmarked the Woodburn RV Park as our Day Two overnight spot, but MAYBE, just maybe, we'd skedaddle along at an efficient pace and end up another few miles down the road at Salem, or maybe all the way out to the coast to Lincoln City. Devil's Lake sounded like a very nice place to stop. HAH! It was getting on to four o'clock by the time we were at Woodburn, so we decided to stay there. Did...

Aug 5, 2013 - Travel to Woodburn, OR - Day 66

August 5, 2013...A travel day. We said our good-byes to John and Ann in the cool morning air and headed north on Hwy. 101. We stopped in Coos Bay to take a few photos and walk on the boardwalk. The sun finally broke through the morning fog about the time we reached Reedsport. At Florence, we turned east on Hwy. 126 to Eugene. By the time we reached Eugene, the temperature had risen from the early morning 51 degrees to 93 degrees. Wow, we are not on the coast anymore! We stopped at an RV dealer in Eugene to ask a few questions. Then we...

Yuma 21012

Sep 3, 2011 - Ellensburg, Washington to Woodburn, Oregon

We had a nice drive today through Washington and we all enjoyed to beautiful scenery. Bob, Cathy, Janette and Lon were all surprised they grew so many grapes and food crops in Washington. We stopped for fresh fruit and it was all wonderful. We stopped a couple of places and tried to get the RV slide repaired but got no help. Everyone needed a week to get to it and then they didn't know how long it would take to get the parts. We did manage to get into an RV park that would let Jim wash the truck and RV. This improved his disposition. Anyone...

HUNDLEYS TO ALASKA

Feb 20, 2011 - The beginning

We moved the coach to the Woodburn RV Park February 6 and started our full-time RVing, commuting back and forth to Canby, with the coach now being our home. February 7th, saw Willamette Valley Movers picking up all of the stuff at the Canby house we wanted to keep and delivered either to Mom’s home or the storage unit we rented for a year. February 8th we with the help of a wonderful and loving niece - 3 bedrooms in the house were painted. Then the next few days saw us cleaning and moving the few remaining items before the renter’s arrival...

Nov 30, 2010 - Corning, CA - Woodburn, Oregon

We are up early this morning, it is cold and frosty out. We are at the fuel station at the front of the casino by 6:45 am and on the road before 7. The weather is supposed to turn ugly this morning, so we want to get through the mountains or to the coast as soon as possible. Connor is checking the weather and the road conditions online and we pull over about half an hour later to decide which road to take. The weather was calling for snow in the Siskiyou's by 10 am, which we will not be able to beat, but then they changed it to 4 pm this...

Sep 8, 2009 - Bellingham to Woodburn Ore.

2 We had another early 10:30 start and passed through Seattle with little traffic but hit rush hour through Portland. I went by several factory outlet malls with howls of protest from the passenger side. The vocal sirens abated when we stopped at the Woodburn RV Park which was adjacent to the Prime Outlet Mall. As were the facilities in Bellinham, Woodburn RV was clean and efficient. We had a surprisingly good dinner at the Elmer's Restaurant next door to the RV park.

COAST AND OKANAGAN

Mar 27, 2008 - Harrisburg - Woodburn

There is one more seminar the men want to take this morning and that is the Cummins Engine seminar. Sandra cleans up and gets the coach ready for departure before heading for the lounge. There is a Tupperware party going on; they have cooked chicken which is free for all to try. We are liking this place way too much - lots of free food! After the seminar, we say goodbye to our new Monaco friends, exchange emails with Pete & Eva and head out to leave. As we are leaving, a lady in the parking lot tells us one of our lights is not working, so...

Jul 6, 2007 - Woodburn RV park

Woodburn is near the heart of the Willamette valley and as a result very much an agricultural center. It's also home to a decent RV park with a pool that happens to be right next to the Woodburn Factory Stores. Guess who went to the pool and who went shopping. Need I say more?
