Oct 30, 2013 - Getting things done
Today was spent at the Freightliner facility in north Portland. The alignment was completed with no charge, what a deal! That's a $175 savings. Tomorrow will be spent back at Camping World getting some small items adjusted and a rear ladder added to the back of the coach. As we traversed the surface streets and a small stretch of freeway on our way to Wood Village, I was closely monitoring the control aspects of the MH after the alignment. It certainly handles differently, but I'm not certain that it is yet correct. It still pulls to the...Jump to full entry
Sep 29, 2013 - The wait just goes on and on and....
We got set up at Camping World, Wood Village in a spot next to a 30amp receptacle with water and dump station across the lot. With an excellent spot for satellite, we were able to enjoy the season premier of "The Good Wife." Monday morning, I made may daily contact meeting with Mike the Service Manager and found that our parts were shipped today, not Friday as we had hoped. So that means the earliest delivery of our new home will be end of the week or Monday of next week. It's a good thing we don't have anything to do other than WAIT!! On...Jump to full entry

From the WalMart parking lot, in Wood Village, Oregon, a suburb of Portland. WEATHER REPORT: At 8:05 PM, 54 degrees, overcast; past 24 hours, overnight low of 45, was 50 at 10:00 AM in Longview, no rain overnight but rain off & on all day, a bit of sleet at one point. I was scratching my head before we ever got out of the parking lot this morning. You may recall me saying previously that Oregon has no sales tax on anything. Last night & again this morning, when we went into the WalMart there in Longview to make small purchases, we were...Jump to full entry
Feb 3, 2009 - back again......
Well hello there! Yep...back again with more Moose Droppings. The pay site features I dropped but they (Good Sam) let me continue with the free site features (less space, less this, less that - but free!) We are still in Fairview, Oregon...the map shows Wood Village(across the road) because there are two Fairviews in Oregon and this map feature shows the other one. We are nestled along I-84, exit 14, next to Wood Village, Gresham, Blue Lake and the mighty Columbia...right at the end of the Columbia Gorge so that the wind blows here all...Jump to full entry
Dec 3, 2008 - Thanksgiving
Thursday, November 27, 2008 – Thanksgiving Day The weather turned sour again and it started raining around 3 AM, and continued until we left the resort. Preparing to leave wasn’t fun as I was getting wet, but didn't have a choice I finally got the rig prepared, hooked the Jeep up and was ready to go by 11:20 AM. Looking at the map, I decided to go north on Hwy 101 and then take Hwy 4 over to Interstate 5, and then make a straight line to Portland. It turned out to be the worst choice as the road is twisting and winds up and over the...Jump to full entry
