Fri, 05 Oct: Back on the road again... We reluctantly left the Escapees Sutherlin Oregon Cooperative. The folks were very friendly and urged us to stay a bit longer. But, the combination of "hitch itch" and a hard deadline made that option impractical. We took our time, checked tire pressure and added air to all of them. It was quite cool this morning (low forties) which affects tire pressure so they all needed air. Bob dumped the holding tanks so we are good for another week or more. Valley of the Rogue State Park on the Rogue River lies along the routes of the Applegate Trail and the 1857 Oregon Gold Rush. Stacy and Sharon Wise were here to greet us. And Sally and Mike Therow left after 2 days. We visited Grants Pass and found Cartwright’s Valley Meat Company with the best meat and seafood ever. Grants Pass also had the Art Along the Rogue street painting and musical festival. Apr 27, 2008 - Valley of the Rogue State Park, Oregon
Day 114 April 27, 2008 We are in Oregon again and it hasn’t rained yet. The last 28 hours we have been at Valley of the Rogue State Park close to Rogue River and Gold Hill, Oregon. We are looking forward to moving on up I-5 to Hi Way Heaven RV Park by Sutherlin near Rita’s mom in Roseburg for a couple of days next. Then it is over on Thursday (our travels) this time when we get back to McMinnville on May 1st. The weather here has been delightful despite the predictions of light rain.
