Mar 28, 2017 - Rogue River Oregon

Driving through Nevada along Hwy 95 is kind of boring. It looks the about the same near Las Vegas as it does near the California border at Reno. We did find a few things to see though. One of them was wild burros! They are a lot smaller than a horse, maybe I can squeeze one of them into the rig. Heck it could even help to haul stuff if we got stranded somewhere. But no, we did not get to stop again.  For lunch we found a really cool town, which seems more like a ghost town that is trying to get revitalized. This is the town of Goldfield...

Aug 7, 2014 - Bike ride

Nice and cool in the morning. We took a bike ride on the bike path to the town of Rogue River. Very nice bike ride, good smooth trail and a store and cafe near bike trail in Rogue River city. Round trip was about 5 miles. Came back and made some eggs with hot links, tomatoes and mushrooms. Got our river trip booked for tomorrow afternoon. We will meet up with Debbie around 3pm.

Aug 6, 2014 - In Oregon, Valley of the Rogue State Park review

Left Durango RV resort headed to Oregon. The I-5 from Lake Shasta to Medford Oregon is a pretty tough drive in the RV. Lots of hills and twists and turns. Norma called and called looking for an RV spot, but they were all full. Finally she stumbled across the Valley of the Rogue, Oregon state park. We pulled in and got the last full hook up site we would fit in. Nice spot, E10. Not enough room for Jeep, but we parked in over flow about 200 yards away and no extra charge. Full hookups, $28 a night. 50 amp and good water pressure. Water tastes...

Oct 5, 2012 - Valley of the Rogue SP

Fri, 05 Oct: Back on the road again... We reluctantly left the Escapees Sutherlin Oregon Cooperative. The folks were very friendly and urged us to stay a bit longer. But, the combination of "hitch itch" and a hard deadline made that option impractical. We took our time, checked tire pressure and added air to all of them. It was quite cool this morning (low forties) which affects tire pressure so they all needed air. Bob dumped the holding tanks so we are good for another week or more. Even with all that we rolled wheels at 0935. We drove...

Sep 28, 2011 - Valley of the Rogue State Park, OR

Valley of the Rogue State Park on the Rogue River lies along the routes of the Applegate Trail and the 1857 Oregon Gold Rush. Stacy and Sharon Wise were here to greet us. And Sally and Mike Theroux left after 2 days. We visited Grants Pass and found Cartwright’s Valley Meat Company with the best meat and seafood ever. Grants Pass also had the Art Along the Rogue street painting and musical festival. We went to Mass in Central Point at the Shepherd of the Valley Catholic Church, a very lively, vibrant faith community. We had a scrumptious...
