Penny and I did the long ride over the last few days and got through California arriving at Joseph H. Stewart State Park in Oregon yesterday. What a really nice campground on a 10 mile long lake surrounded by mountains. Weather is beautiful and we took a 3.5 mile hike today along a really great trail along the lake. There are huge old growth trees here and the lake is a aqua green color. We will chill out here until tomorrow and then we head north for Crater Lake. We don't have very good internet, so posting pics is out for now. Hope...

Jun 13, 2008 - The beginning

We started out on this year's journey the last week of March. On our way north we visited with Carolyn and Richard and Dennis' uncle Jim as well as stopping at some new places such as a couple of nights along the Russian River in a Thousand Trails Park. We left Crescent City on a sunday. The drive up Hwy. 199 to Grants Pass, OR is particularly harrowing during the week because of the logging trucks. This day it was the weather that was not great, snowing on us some along the way. We headed to Valley of the Rogue State Park for one night...
