Jul 28, 2011 - Day 13 - Spruce Goosed...
Arrived in Spokane. 9:00pm and we left the hotel at 8:00am this morning. Off for a beer and food, and then a proper update... _________________________________________ Okay, it's 10:40 and we're back from the pub having had a pint and a bite of food. Today was a really long, but good, day. On a number of recommendations we decided to make a detour and see the Spruce Goose at a museum in McMinnville, and boy was it worth it! We set the alarm for 6:30 but it was still 8:00 this morning when we got moving. We got to the museum about 9:45 -...

Jul 27, 2009 - Week Eight - In Hot Water Again
So, we were talkin' about Kokanee Lakeside Resort in Balfour, B.C., after wine country and cherry orchard (in season, yum) country, to this artsy and funky campground, owned by this energetic senior lady wearing a tool belt most of time when not on the hugely long lake in her houseboat. She's a watercolor artist as well as a handy-lady. Mmmm, artsy women and tools, two of my favorite things. In town, on a little beach, next to the ferry boat landing, we found the Dock and Duck, really good food for moderate prices, great ambiance, and a...

Dec 6, 2007 - Springfield, Oregon
Woke up in the Richland, Washington Wal-Mart parking lot, in what is classified as a desert zone which has on average 300 days of sunshine, of course we got one of the other 65 days, it is spitting rain, and it doesn't really stop raining all day. Picked up a couple of things in Wal-Mart and then tried to find somewhere for an oil change. Found one that could do it for $40 or so but couldn't do it until the next day, the other place was an RV dealer and they could do it right away but they wanted $100 which I thought was too much, but we...

Oct 19, 2007 - packing and loading
Well the trailer arrived on Thursday, the 18th. We started loading it on Friday, the 19th. We were doing pretty good, then it started raining....a lot. Then it hailed. So we stopped for a while. Then we found out another inspector is coming out on Monday to make sure we fixed all the "small" things that were wrong. We fixed them right after the inspector was here, and the buyers realtor told us they were so small, we didn't even have to fix them. Now their lender wants to make sure they are fixed. This is such crap. We'll keep loading the...

Sep 5, 2007 - The EVE of departure
20:40 Our departure is drawing near and I'm very nervous. While I deal with complex and stressful issues like dying on a regular basis and sometimes not so well, like this evening, I broke down in the biggest way....lots of pain and tears. Sorry Cris, please say a prayer for me. Packing is mostly done, and thanks to my wonderful wife the little things are also taken care of. Now it's about putting the bags in front of the door, and ourselves out it. Our adventure is set before us. It's my sincere hope that this adventure will pull my...
