Sep 2, 2017 - On our way to Orofino, Idaho

We spent a month in Crescent, Oregon (thank you Bruce & Donna for getting us in at Big Pines) always wonderful to be there. On Thursday we headed for a one night stay back at Pendleton, Oregon (parked ourselves at Wildhorse Casino & RV Resort). It was pretty warm out, so we hid out in the casino for awhile & grabbed a bite to eat.

Jul 13, 2017 - Our stay at Pendleton, Oregon

We finally have a good signal so I can now play catch up with our updates. We didn't do much during our stay there, spent lots of time in the casino (where it was cooler than in the trailer). The park was having an issue with power outages, guess it was all those air conditioners running. Think they need to update their electrical equipment to accommodate all that usage.

Jul 5, 2017 - Moved on

Just a quick note, I am unable to update our journal because of the lack of a good signal. We left Leavenworth & currently we are back in Pendleton, Oregon. We tried to get into other parks in Washington, but they were all full because of the holiday. So as soon as I get a better signal, I'll bring you all up to date.

Jun 18, 2017 - Pendleton, Oregon

We spent a week in Crescent, while there we encountered more rain (it seems to be following us), we also had a little snow fall on us...which didn't stick. We stayed inside the trailer & stayed warm most of the week. We left Crescent on the 15th & landed in Pendleton, Oregon (another favorite hangout), we are here till the 22nd. we're staying at Wild Horse Resort/Casino. Pete wants to play some golf here (they have a beautiful course) & we have already hit the casino. Of course we've had two days of rain, as for today its cloudy but the...

May 15, 2017 - Pendelton, OR

A Couple of days at Crazy Horse Casino campground with plans to play golf here and catch up on our grocery shopping. So far we have not been able to play golf as it has turned cold and rained every day. Lots of Gin Rummy being played to pass the time away as we are having to stay inside the RV. I guess everyday cannot be perfect for our trip.

Apr 3, 2017 - Best steak ever!

One of the reasons Mike wanted to come this way was to stop in Pendleton Oregon to eat at Hamley’s Steakhouse again. It was the best steak we had ever had. So in Pendleton we saw there was a campground at a casino. Many times these are free or very cheap to encourage people to come so they will go into the casino. Not this place. It was $40 a night but we had hookups so that gives us a chance to clean out and fill up with fresh water, plus a place to safely unhook the rig so we can go into town. We did make it to Hamley’s. First we walked...

Nov 13, 2016 - Kelowna to Pendleton OR

We were up early wanting to get a good start on our day as we planned to travel about 400 miles before stopping for the day. John had hooked up to the fifth wheel the night before so all we had to do was disconnect our services, put the slides in and hit the road. We were on the road by 7:00 AM. Our route would take us south through Kelowna and along the Okanagan past Penticton, Oliver and then Osoyoos. We reached the US border around 11:00 am and crossed without much trouble although the US customs officer wanted to check our fridge for...

Oct 1, 2016 - Our 6th Anniversary of life as full timers on the road

Big events in our life deserve attention, so after a 9 month hiatus from writing in the journal, I think I may be returning to the process of documenting our travels and life as full time RVers. As I reviewed where I left off in my postings, it was clear that the writing was becoming mundane and not very inspired. The last several weeks I have realized how much this process means to me and that anything of value has certain tasks which must be done in order to reach the larger goal. So time to get with it. So where have we been since our...

Dream On

Aug 8, 2016 - Hello - we are back on the road

No we haven't dropped off the face of the earth, the last time I posted we were still in Crescent, Oregon. When we left Crescent, we headed back down to Lancaster, Ca. to help our Son (Richard ) & Daughter-in-Law (Jennifer). They rented a duplex in No. Edwards, Ca. (which needed some TLC) it seems the owner told them that he hired someone to clean the place up....somebody didn't do their job. The place needed cleaning alright, but there were several other issues...so we stepped up to the plate & dug in. We stayed a week out at the Antelope...

Pete & Jan's Travels

Jun 14, 2016 - Pendleton, OR

We woke up to a rainy morning in Boise and the rain only got worse as we drove west on I-84 to Pendleton, OR. Although it wasn’t a horrible drive, weather-wise, we did have some real down pours. We weren’t on the road too long when we went over the Oregon border. Ore-Ida potato “factory” was almost right on the border. Guess that’s why they named it Ore (Oregon) Ida (Idaho). Never knew that. Since the potatoes come from Idaho, it seems to me the name should have been Ida-Ore…but it just doesn’t have a good ring, does it? After the Oregon...

Apr 21, 2016 - Pendleton, OR

About 45 minutes south of us, is Pendleton. We drove down there to see the Woolen Mill again. We did this tour last year but decided to see it again since we were so close. They have a lot of big jacquard looms in there. They can weave a blanket in only 8 minutes. They actually make them on continuous rolls and they are cut apart later. We also did the Pendleton Underground Tour. This was really well done. The tour guide was great and it was a fun group we were with. We went through 70 years of history in the cellars and tunnels. We saw...
