May 30, 2014 - Mt. Angel & Silver Falls State Park, OR

Hello Everyone, Today we headed due East toward the Oregon coast to Mount Angel, OR which is about 60 miles south of Portland. This town is a Bavarian one with German architecture, Beer Halls, and it even has a Glockenspiel! We spent two half days wandering the streets enjoying the scenery, and the food!! Sep 13, 2013 - Oktoberfest

Oktoberfest in Mount Angel is wonderful. Enjoyed some good German food and enjoyed the exhibits. Mount Angel is located 18 miles northeast of Salem on Highway 214. Founded in the late 1800s by German settlers, this town has an Old World flavor which is heightened by the many Bavarian style storefronts and the beautiful Benedictine Abbey. They celebrate their German heritage each year during the Oktoberfest, held in September.

Sep 16, 2007 - OKTOBERFEST!

Saturday, September 15 - we jumped into the car and drove south to Mount Angel for their annual Oktoberfest. This is billed as the biggest "national origin festival in Oregon," and we believe it. The Budweiser Clydesdales were there, along with at least 60 food vendors (we participated in just a few!), a great arts and crafts area and one helluva lot of fun and entertainment. The Clydesdales were housed in stalls under a tent, right next to the handicapped / media parking area, between their several shows each day. What beautiful horses!!!...
