Sep 17, 2018 - Mill City OR – Fishermen’s Bend BLM Campground

We’ve added this to our list of places to spend some time at. This is quite a campground from the Bureau of Land Management. All sites are large, have electric and sewer and a separate, private picnic area. The showers have tile walls and floors. Not just any old tile, either, but the kind you would see on HGTV. The biggest plus is the location. It's on the North Santiam river, with lots of trails and walking paths and fishing. A perfect place to spend a couple of weeks.

Retired at Last!

May 31, 2008 - Mill City, OR

We drove from the coast inland so that we could camp with Gary Thurman. He is the administrator on the HitchHiker forum. Also camping with Gary are their best friends, Dave and Sandy. We spent 6 days here as we get to camp for $9 a night with full hookups. For the most part we didn't do much as the weather was drizzle and rain, plus there is not much to do close by. I installed a number of goodies I bought and had shipped to Gary. One of them was a device to make it real easy to open and shut the tailgate on the truck. Well, I had some...
