Sep 3, 2013 - 5 States later

Hallelujah! Five states in four days and we finally made to our destination state of Oregon. Not too bad for a couple of rookie road trippers. Had a nice surprise visit with Mike's brother Brian and his wife Michelle and son Aubree. ( sorry a.j. Just had to do it). Turns out they were in town over the holiday and they live only about 25 minutes from our campsite outside of Ogden in Salt Lake City. They popped on over Monday AM for coffee and then we barged in on them at their casa. They graciously fatten us up and we were on our way...

Apr 29, 2010 - Lame But Laid-up

From the Oasis RV Park in Huntington, Oregon, on the Idaho border at I-84. WEATHER REPORT: See journal entry. When we left the Portland area this morning, we did so without a particular objective for the day, other than to stop at Pendleton, Oregon so that I could get a haircut. We pulled in there about 2:00 PM & were ready to go again by 2:45 PM. The two primary options were to go another 50 miles & visit another Uncle Wally, or go another 150 miles to arrive at the campground that we had chosen as a stopover before going to Declo, our...

We're Wingin' It

Aug 31, 2008 - Huntington, Oregon

WE are now in Huntington, Oregon. The campground is on the Snake River. We are in the same campground that we were in two years ago. The weather here turned cold and very windy. Tons of flying bugs here because we are right on the river. We have linked up with Dave and Trish Wood. We met in Yakima and spent one night. Then we drove to Hermiston and spent a couple of days. We came here in Huntington because it is in the direction we are going and it is Labor Day weekend, a very hard time to get a campground. This place is mainly a fish camp...

Jul 15, 2007 - Eastern Oregon Is Hot

R-Another travel day. We got everything and ourselves cleaned up by 11:00 and hit the road. Leslie said she wanted to drive so I got us out of the campground and she took the wheel all the way to our next campground. Next thing is to get her to learn how to back the whole rig into a back-in site. The campground is located along the Snake River in Huntington, Oregon. While this is a pretty area, there isn't much here. There are almost no trees and the grass is all brown. When we got here the temperature was over 100 degrees and it only...

Jul 3, 2007 - Huntington, Oregon

When we left Craters of the Moon, we drove to Marsing, Idaho. We stayed there a couple of days to do laundry and see a movie. We saw the new Bruce Willis movie "Live Free or Die Hard". Our campsite was right on the Snake River. We also stopped by a HitchHiker dealer and chatted with him. This is the dealer I would buy a rig from if and when we ever get a new and bigger rig. He has a great reputation, and bottom line prices. Then we drove to Oregon, where we are going to stay for a few days. In the middle of the night on July 3, I rolled...
