Jul 31, 2011 - Ah, church and a visit to the Zurbrugg's

Ah, one never misses the things they miss until they are gone. Church was great and we were even on-time because - yep - we were parked there. Kids caught up with us for the service and then headed to a birthday party for their friend Sabrina. Mikayla needed to have some new clothes, so we headed over to the party to give her some clothes but ended up staying and visiting for the afternoon. Got a call from my sister that my mom was back in the hospital with an infection and was on oxygen. Called her and she didn't want visitors but sounded...

Jul 30, 2011 - Hillsboro Oregon, Calvary Chapel

Arrived in town about 2:30 a.m. Took Ethan home on in the Jeep and Bill took Emma to her house in the RV. Mikayla stayed with Emma and William slept through it all. William woke up to notice that his sister was gone and lamented why he was still in the RV. He called his friend Brandon and so we took him to visit for a few hours. Then after Brandon needed to get back to work, William asked to go to see his friend Kyle. We stopped by our friend's, the Norman's for a short stop and then dropped William at Kyle's. Bill and I headed to our...

Jul 23, 2011 - Home

Well, we made it home. We got up at 3am on Friday on Paris to take our pre-arranged taxi to the airport and got there by 5am. Of course, the airport doesn't 'open' till 6am, so we printed our boarding passes at the kiosk and sat around to wait for the security line to open! We got espressos (at least one cafe' was open) and at 6am went through the non-existent line and walked to our gate, where we waited some more. But our flights home were smooth (literally - the 9-hour flight from Heathrow to Vancouver BC on the Air Canada 777 jumbo jet...

Jul 7, 2011 - Getting Ready!

Well, we are almost finished packing. We are only taking one carry-on each, plus a shoulder bag, so you wouldn't think it would take this long to pack. But I think the less you try to take, the harder it is decide WHAT to take & how to pack it! Ray took Shayna to Sandra's office this afternoon. When I asked him how it went, he said Shayna knew where she was as soon as she got out of the car and was very SO happy to be there. Tried to print our boarding passes from home, but turns out Air Canada (which we are flying both ways) doesn't allow...

Jun 11, 2009 - Some Begining

WE'RE OFF!!! We are not going very far today. I have a RV appointment in Hillsboro for an oil change and a gas filter change. On the pickup I have an appointment for a LOF. Besides that, Cathy has a MD appointment at St. Vincents. Soooo, our first night we are spending in the parking lot of Bruce Chevrolet. Not very far today, only about 60 miles.

Apr 29, 2009 - Eastward Eve

The truck is packed and ready to go. I just have to put my ice chest and box of electronics (GPS, iPod, Zune, camera and all the necessary cords and chargers) on the passenger seat and off it is. Except the first stop will be at the dentist. I had a bone graft on my jaw a while back and it got infected. The dentist wanted to verify the infection was on the wain before I left. The only time that worked for both of us was first thing Thursday morning. Luckily my schedule is pretty flexible so it's not an issue. I'm looking forward to getting...

Mar 9, 2009 - L.L. "Stub" Stewart State Park

On March 2nd we arrived at our home for the month of March. We are currently volunteering at L.L. "Stub" Stewart State Park (northwest of Portland). This is Oregon's newest campground. As you can tell by the attached photos, not much is going on yet in our camp loop. Although the park is open year-round, and we currently have visitors staying in another camp loop and in the cabin village, our loop will not open for the summer season until March 15th...just in time for Spring Break. In the meantime, we are helping to prepare the park for...

Sep 3, 2007 - Hi Guys

Hi Guys! I am having so much fun! After I left home on Fri. Aug. 31, 2007 I headed for Oregon. My parents and I traveled to Woodburn Oregon, then my cousin came to pick me up to go to her house for the weekend. My cousin lives in Hillsboro Oregon, which is about 30 miles away from Woodburn Oregon. While I was at my cousin's house having fun, my mom and dad were at a boring wedding. I also saw my Aunt and to be Uncle. My cousin and I did mostly girl stuff. We slept out on the porch and we got cold. More later!
