Oct 18, 2013 - From "The Alps" to the Pacific Ocean

I can't say this enough...FALL IS HERE!!!! Gold is the tree color for this fall. We are presently past peak, so the trees are getting ready for their "winter snooze". And BOB IS HOME!!!!! We have wasted no time in getting back into our roll....every weekend we have "been on the road". And, the best is yet to come with our anniversary trip to British Columbia to close out the month. Love it!!! Before Bob moved back home he said, "Be prepared to go someplace!" Prepared I was! On Friday, Oct 4th, we headed northeast to Joseph, OR, home of the...

Oct 13, 2012 - River Bend RV Resort

We drove from Keizer to Harrisburg, Oregon, a distance of 60 miles. Harrisburg is a small town that lies on the Willamette River between Corvallis and Eugene, and is the world's largest producers of quality grass seed. We have been following the "RV Dreams" Blog for about 6 1/2 years now and we found out that they were having a Rally in Harrisburg, Oregon. Howard and Linda Payne are full-timers, and when we first found their website they had only been into their journey for 6 months or so. In this lifestyle it is an added bonus when you...

Aug 8, 2012 - Fortuna and on to Harrisburg

Monday we said good bye to Jerry and Kathy and headed north. Since we did not get an early start, we decide to stop at the Colusa Casino for a free night before going across Highway 20, along Clear Lake. We arrived in Fortuna Wednesday in time for our dinner at the Scotia Inn with Janet and Wayne. We set up for our 6 day stay at River walk RV Park, where we have stayed before. Thursday we rested and caught up with some of our paper work and Ed did a little work. Thursday evening Janet, Wayne, Judie and Ed went to Ferndale for dinner and to...

Jun 14, 2012 - Stonebridge Resort, Harrisburg and the Awning Incident

We left Missoula and headed to the Stonebridge RV Resort in Blanchard, ID as our destination for the next 2 nights. We had heard about Stonebridge at the FMCA Rally in January and received a 7 day free trial visit. We could only stay 2 nights but want to see the resort. It is about 30 minutes north of Post Falls, just north of Spirit Lake. We arrived late and went to the pro shop as we were told, after some confusion we were directed to a space in the RV Resort. Tuesday we had a relaxing morning and then went to the office for the tour of...

Nov 2, 2011 - A Busy 3 Weeks in Harrisburg Getting Work Done on the Coach

We took advantage of our 3 weeks in Harrisburg to get a lot of items done on the coach. This is a good area for coach work since Monaco, Country Coach and Marathon all manufactured coach in this area and a lot of small specialty business grew here with expertise in coach work and accessories. We had the carpets, vinyl floor and furniture cleaned by Frank, who has done this kind of work for 25 years. The Sirius radio was replaced by Innovative Coach Works who specialize in electronics for coaches, including radio systems, TV’s, satellite...

Oct 9, 2011 - Our First Week in Harrisburg OR

Boy, what a busy first week we have had in Harrisburg. We made the short trip from Corbett to Harrisburg on Monday. We took advantage of the short trip to do some things at the coach before we left. We also drove the Escape and the coach down the hill to Camper World before we hooked the Escape to the coach. A little shopping at Camper World for items we had seen on sale. It was an uneventful trip for the Escape for its time being towed and with no rock guard. We enjoy the Riverbend RV Resort and have stayed here several times. It is modern...

Aug 15, 2010 - Harrisburg, OR - Freightliner rally

Here we are at River Bend RV Resort in Harrisburg Oregon. Had a great time at the FMCA rally, we were there for 6 nights and still had water left in the tanks so we made it through without having to dump and refresh but had the coach weighed and the passanger side rear wheels were 10,600 pounds or about 600 pounds over the rating - the left side was 9,925 pounds (under by 75 lbs)- the extra weight is probably attributable to the extra water we were carrying. We normally carry 1/3 rd of a tank about 30 gallons and we had about 100 gallons on...

Dec 5, 2009 - Harrisburg Visit-- Part 2

Wednesday Ed spent getting caught up on some work and relaxing. Judie went out to get supplies for making candied walnuts for gifts. She has 2 recipes for the candied walnuts and made a two sample batches. Ed and Cheyenne like the 'pan' prepared method and son Ed and Judie like the oven baked method! Guess Judie and Cheyenne will have to make them both ways on Friday. Wednesday evening Chey had a wrestling match to work, so Ed and Judie went with her to watch the matches. PLEASE NOTE: Chey is not a wrestler, she is a 'mat girl' who helps...

Dec 1, 2009 - Life in Harrisburg

After a relaxing morning, doing the Wi-Fit and FaceBook games, we went to Ed's place to visit before going out to Thanksgiving dinner. We met Diamond, Ed's new 7 month old pup, a beautiful American Bulldog. She's well behaved and is learning to accept our 'little white dogs'. Joy growls, Diamond backs off. :)) Toby would love to be free to play with her, but, we're taking that slow. Diamond outweighs the Maltese guys by about 60 pounds. She is a real doll, (more to come). We went to the Pioneer Restaurant to enjoy a full Thanksgiving meal....

Nov 26, 2009 - Settled in Harrisburg, OR

We left Redding concerned about getting over the Sis-Q moountain summits as rain and snow were predicted. The trip was beautiful, barely damp roads. So much for relying 100% on weather reports! We spent the night in the Seven Feathers RV resort, but, were too tired from our 'colds' to enjoy the hot tub or other amenities. Did go to the casino for dinner, home, and to bed! Arrived in Harrisburg late afternoon on Monday. Rich and Gerd arrived 'right on time'. Rich and Gerd stayed at the motel that is associated with the RV Park. Ed and...

Oct 14, 2009 - Made our way to Harrisburg, OR

We've had a couple really busy days and seem to have fallen behind in the journal. We drove over Highway 26 from Seaside to the Willamette Valley on Monday. A neighbor in Seaside recommended we stop at Camp 18 on the highway, and what a fun spot it is. It's an old lumber diner that is now a logging museum and great restaurant. The fall color change is just in the early stages and very pretty. The RV park (and motel) in Harrisburg is beautiful with the Willamette River as one boundary. They host events (ie, weddings) here, have a...
