(Ron Writing) This morning it was bright and sunny but only 35°. This reinforced our decision that it was time to head south. After breakfastwe headed south on US-395. We’ve driven parts of US-395, which runs north and south from border to border, but never this section in Oregon. It runs through a very sparsely populated area with widely separated small towns, a few very large ranches, and National forest land. Most of the drive was at elevations of 4,500’ to 5,000’.
