Jan 14, 2013 - And So It Begins......

Well, today the journey begins. After picking up a pair of new eyeglasses, making a trip to the storage unit, getting gas, going to the bank, saying goodbye to Mom, and dislodging various frozen parts of the trailer, departure occured around 1:00 p.m. from Forest Grove. Due to the later departure, the travel day was a bit shorter than usual, and a desire NOT to travel at night, my overnight is in the parking lot of the Myrtle Creek Elks Lodge - nothing pretty, but economical. Nov 16, 2010 - We're off

Day 1: Forest Grove to Weed, CA. Well, we finally made it. Sort of mixed feelings today, as I leave Mom behind (we waved at each other when I went past her window on my way out of the parking lot), and head over to pick up Ryan. Ryan had to work this morning, so I drove to a point across the street from his complex and waited for him to join me. Jul 2, 2008 - Visiting Alan and Carol in the Portland area

Portland Oregon area.(Alan and Carol’s) We stayed with Alan(Bruce's cousin) and Carol for several days. Bruce and Alan have only seen each other a couple of times in the past so it was great spending some time together and for us all to get to know each other. Alan works in the semiconductor equipment industry. Carol teaches drawing and gave Erik and Carly some pointers while we were there. She also rescues wayward, injured, or lost animals. Alan and Bruce compared notes on making home-brew as they both have this hobby. A funny coincidence...
