Today we had decided to go see the antique, but still in use, flour mill at the small town of Eagle Point, a suburb of Medford. As we drove from Shady Cove, we came to a road sign we had seen for Butte Falls. Knowing that the flour mill was on Butte Creek, we decided to go see the "falls". Well, Butte Falls may have had a waterfall somewhere, but Butte Falls is not a falls, but a very small town. Oct 17, 2013 - Butte Creek Mill

Tom and I served as a VCR (Volunteer Club Representative) for Chapter 37 and 47 of the Escapees Club. One of the tours they had scheduled for their campout was a tour of the Butte Creek Mill. To find out about this interesting place visit http://buttecreekmill.com/. We bought some oatmeal and pancake mix while there and it is awesome. May consider placing an order at some point. For those of you who like oatmeal theirs is the best. They also have an antique shop attached to the mill. At the mill they actually grind their own corn and oats....

Sep 12, 2010 - Winding down

Our last day in Oregon is a nice one Sunday Today we took back roads from Myrtle Creek to Eagle Point, driving the Crater Lake Road along the Umpqua River for a ways and then along the Rogue River to Shady Cove. At Shady Cove we turned east for a few miles, arriving at Eagle Point around noon. Arlene gave us a warm welcome and we spent a nice afternoon and evening with her, driving back to Shady Cove for a good Mexican dinner.
