Mar 30, 2015 - Scio OR to Central OR

We left Scio Oregon today with mixed emotions. While it has been great being able to winter over at my parents house, it is a little sad to leave them, but we are also anxious to continue on our journey. We drove through the Cascade Mountains, passing Detroit Lake. It is still pretty low now. They will release the dam water for the summer activities. We stopped at an old favorite, Marion Forks Restaurant for some pie and coffee. There are new owners now, but they know to put up the Hummingbird Feeders. The Hummers were back. Along the pass,...

Sep 7, 2013 - Cove Palisades State Park

Well my time of non-writing is over, time to get back in the saddle of the journal. There has actually been a lot going on and I'll let you in on some of the latest and what has been a major distraction for us over the past several weeks. We have been at a momentous decision point for quite some time and during the last several weeks, we have finally dealt with the decision and made what we feel is the right direction for our future in this life style. Jul 3, 2012 - To Culver, OR

Yesterday we drove the West Rim Road at Crater Lake National Park. We both want to drive the partially open East Rim Road. We head again to Crater Lake. On the East Rim, we get a better view of the Devil’s Backbone. We find the Phantom Ship. It is an outcropping of rock. It tends to blend into the background. We drive the East Rim Road as far as we are allowed. We meet a couple from Texas. It is a little chilly and we talk of the weather back home. I should have dressed warmer this morning. Back at the RV Park, we pick up our trailer. We...

We made the trip from Revelstoke British Columbia to Culver Oregon in two days with an overnight stop in Ellensburg Washington. The weather was good. We departed Revelstoke early on Monday September 15th, heading west on Canada Highway 1 to the town of Sicamous BC where we turned southwest to the US Border in the Okanagan Valley of BC and Washington. We arrived at the US Border about 11:00 am with all RVs being pulled out for inspection. We were fourth in the inspection line and it was over an hour before we were on the road again. The...

Aug 18, 2007 - Cove Palisades National Park, OR

We spent a wonderful weekend at Cove Palisades National Park with Chris, Amy and little Jackson. It was pretty spectacular there. You drive through flat farm lands and then all of a sudden you start heading down. Over a bend in the rode and then WHAM there you are overlooking a beautiful lake. The rode goes steeply down and you wind around to a camp site tucked away in the trees. We spent the day at the beach and JT had a wonderful first birthday. Nicole probably had more fun though; playing with Jackson, swimming, fishing (she caught a...
