Mar 14, 2012 - Back on I-5
We're back on the I-5, running from weather again, coming full circle. We left Dutcher Creek Monday morning, heading up the 101, through more great little towns and thoroughly enjoying the scenery along the highway, which alternates between freeway and two-lane. Hopville, Willits, and Garberville were among towns that warrant further exploration. Our destination was the Benbow RV & Golf Resort, just south of Garberville, where we were hoping to get in a round of golf before the predicted rain let loose, but we just didn't make it in time....

Jan 4, 2012 - The United States of America Took My Rice
I was too upset to take a photo. But picture this: Pouring rain, pelting, a barrage. Windy. Cold. Grey. Grey sky. Grey concrete. Thick grey concrete walls enclose a small area with two chain link cages along one side. The floors of the cages are covered in puddles of rain water. Small bits of poop huddle in the corners. Dismal is the word. Depressing. Then add Salsa. In the cage/kennel. Close the gate and walk away. And so our trip began. It was raining, hard. That's okay, we thought. Drive slowly, take her easy, all is good. So we...

Jun 27, 2011 - Traveling North to Coburg with Side Trips and Adventure.
After spending the morning with the Hills and getting unpacked from the cruise, we went to Kim and Galen’s for a Father’s Day dinner with Galen, Kim, Trevor Jenna, Karl and Danna. Great meal with several types of bar-b-qued meats and all the sides. Back to the coach at Hill’s for the night and then up early to get everything packed for the trip to Redding. Jerry helped us back the coach out of his back yard and we were off. On our trip to Redding we stopped by the storage in Red Bluff and got our Euro chair for the coach and outdoor chairs...

Dec 14, 2010 - TORNADO!!
So last year, around Day Three of our trip, we went through an earthquake in Arcata, California. Today, we just missed a very rare tornado that ravaged Aumsville, Oregon, just east of Salem. We were a bit up the road, just south of Olympia when it hit around 11:30. Apparently it was proceeded by a heavy hailstorm. We got the hail, but not the wind. Fortunately no one was seriously hurt. But, hmm, natural disasters... We started our day by meeting up with an old friend from our Eugene days, Nancy Johnston, and her husband Eric. They live in...

Our campground is so quiet and we kept waiting for the trains or hwy noise to begin but it stayed nice and quiet!! ha ha Will be here for one more night! It is suppose to start raining tonight. Feb 9, 2010 - We made it!
Hello family and friends: We finally have arrived at Coburg Oregon. We had our first meeting on Monday morning at 7:30am. which is 10:30am your time. It went very well. We were allowed to stay on our motor home for that evening but had to pack up and leave on Tuesday morning. Seems funny driving in a small car. We are travelling along the coast....

Jul 17, 2008 - Monaco Factory, Coburg, Oregon
After leaving Sweet Home we drove on down to Coburg, Oregon to the Monaco Factory to see how our motorhome was built. We spent a couple of hours or so there on a tour with other RV owners seeing how they make them. They are made on an assembly line production currently producing about three a day. It was cool to see how each part is made. They have a neat tracking system similar to railroad tracks that the coach's are moved side to side from from section to another. The paint booth and rain check booth were both interesting. We especially...

Oct 20, 2007 - We are at Coburg for Kria's Birthday
We just got back from our grand-daughters first birthday party and had a great time. Of course as grand parents we may be biased but, Kira is the happiest little girl we have ever seen. We are planing on leaving in the morning and heading for "On the River Golf & RV Park", which is just south of Roseburg, Oregon.

Aug 27, 2007 - Eugene, Oregon
As we left Castle Rock, we had a very nice older man come up and talk to us about our rig. Naturally we told him that we had driven it to Alaska and back. Well, he beat us since he had done so with his rig three times. He also made it to Stewart/Hyder and told us that it was a very beautiful ride and laughed when we told him about the road. He agreed that we were better off avoiding it with only one lane. Oh Well, in some other lifetime. We did arrive in Eugene, Oregon and will leave here tomorrow morning for Weed, California. I will take...
