Jan 16, 2020 - Canyonville, OR

We had planned to stay in Grants Pass our first night out as our son-in-law, Steve Spencer lives there now as well as several other friends. Mother Nature had other plans as snow fell in the area and made travel especially by RV impossible. We tried to cancel our reservations in Grants Pass and could never reach the RV park. We found out later that a tree had fallen across their access road not only blocking the road but knocking out power to the park. Needless to say we stayed in Canyonville our first night out. The food at the casino...

Winter 2020

Oct 30, 2019 - Back on the road to Yuma

We had an early wake up call this morning to be up and on the road around 0815. It was really cold this morning, 27 degrees, sunny, and clear. But no frost in our neighborhood. Thankfully no problems with the RV or the truck to cause us any delays. And Miss Zoey was eager for us to get going. The roads were good, no ice or frost to contend with. Going straight through Portland was slow, which is normal, but we got through it in about 35 minutes. My goodness how do people deal with that awful Portland traffic every day? I would be super...

Apr 3, 2019 - Traveling through the mountains

We were up and on the road by 0830 this morning. It is cloudy and about 50 degrees, so no more shorts for me. We both have on long pants and long sleeves, with the rain coats hanging near by. It didn't take long for the rain to hit us, so no bugs or butterflies today. Mostly just a drizzle, enough to be irritating. Lots of up and down as we drove through the mountains. Lots of swapping lanes with the big trucks. We pass them on the way up and they pass us on the way down. It was hard to see the scenery in the drizzly haze. But we did...

Jun 20, 2018 - Canyonville Oregon

We spent 6 days in Canyonville Oregon at the Seven Feathers RV Resort which is part of the Seven Feathers Casino establishment. Our purpose for staying here was to attend the Grand Design Oregon rally. This was our 4th rally and our first on the west coast – we will attend another one in September in Washington state. There were 154 Grand Design rigs at this rally making it the largest regional rally (the one in Indiana is at the mothership and so far is the largest rally). We reconnected with several friends that we had met at other...

2018 Life in our RV

Mar 28, 2018 - Day 3 of the Journey

Off to an early start at 0745 this morning. Wind is predicted by the news in Redding so we are trying to beat it. But it was no problem after all. Lots of up and down as we go through the mountains. We swapped lanes all day with the big trucks traveling through the Siskiyou's. An absolutely beautiful day, as you can see from the photos. We have been very blessed with a really good window to travel. We got to stop at my fav California rest area. The one by the Klamath river, off the freeway. It is huge, very pretty, and extremely well...

Oct 6, 2017 - Getting Closer

Oct.5 it’s been a cool night, good for sleeping but only 58 degrees this morning. We headed out at 8am to the Loves for fuel & they are under total renovation. It would have been an impossible stop for last night so the decision to Walmart it was fortuitous. The central valley of California is farm land in the millions of acres with trees producing everything from fruit to nuts . The necessary irrigation canals, pumping stations & water storage tanks required is phenomenal. The signs posted in the fields along the highways tells travellers...

Aug 2, 2017 - Playing Catch Up Again

We have moved on twice since Canyonville, but because of bad internet signals I've been unable to post anything. So I'm posting a few photos of things we saw in the surrounding areas. We took drives, near the Umqua River, a drive to Grants Pass & drove up to Crater Lake (taking hwy 62, a route we've never taken ). We took these drive between July 15th & July 20th).

Jul 13, 2017 - Return to Seven Feathers RV Resort in Canyonville, Or.

We arrived back in Seven Feathers RV Resort on the 10th, we are here until July 26th. We originally booked our time here for a week, but yesterday we extended our time here. On the 26th, we will head back to Eugene (I know, we keep covering the same old places...but there is a reason for this madness). We need another repair on the rig, the hot water heater has an issue. It'll work on the propane but not on the electric, so that will be addressed. We promise, at some point we'll head into some new areas.

Apr 28, 2017 - Seven Feathers Indian Casino

Staying at the Indian Casino RV Resort. This is the best campground we have ever been in!! Played golf at Cougar Golf Course for 15 holes. The course was wet, long, and every hole was up hill (so it seemed). Anyhow, we were both tired after 15 holes so we called it a day. The casino had live music every night and provided shuttle service from the campground 24 hours a day. We rode our bikes and fell in love with this place.

Apr 27, 2017 - Canyonville, Oregon

We left Redding early this morning and drove to Canyonville, Oregon. It feels great to finally be in Oregon. Our drive took us on part of the Volcanic Legacy Scenic Byway. It is an All-American Road in the U.S. states of California and Oregon. It is roughly 500 miles long and travels through the Cascade Range past numerous volcanoes. It is composed of two separate National Scenic Byways, the Volcanic Legacy Scenic Byway - Oregon and Volcanic Legacy Scenic Byway – California. We had awesome Mount Shasta views along the drive too. It was a...

Apr 1, 2017 - Seven Feathers RV Park and Casino-It's getting colder

I think the FOY is still in our blood as we were up and at it by 700AM this morning and ready to get on the road. Hey easy folks I meant we were ready to get on the road not each other haha. The winds eased overnight and it was an easier ride to Canyonville than the previous two days. Luckily we had made a reservation at the casino park as it was full to the gunnels. Got checked in and set up and then off to the casino of course, miss lucky pants walked out with 300USD she didn't go in with so was a good nite. Think we saw Kate and Ken...
