4/27 Metolius River near Camp Sherman With our kitchen slide fixed, we headed into the Deschutes National Forest. There are a few campgrounds, but they are either not open yet, or we could not fit into the sites. This is one big disadvantage over having the size rig we do. But yesterday we had found a spot where camping is allowed, and we fit great. It is actually a pull out off of the forest road. It is separated from the highway and nice and long. This is actually being written in September 2013, and will serve as in intro for a thumbnail sketch into the life and times of the author during the past few months............... Hi all. Well, after a bit of a hiatus from exotic traveling (ha, ha) and subsequent entries to this site, perhaps there’s still some value to posting a few pictures and little tidbits of places around here. Sep 8, 2011 - Camp Sherman, OR

We had some errands to run in Sisters this morning so we hooked up the RV and parked it on a secondary street across several parking spaces. While it was there, the Theroux’s and McDole’s came through and saw it. Sally got really excited. It was all of a 30 mile drive to Camp Sherman. Hillary, our GPS, actually found the right turn off Route 126. The Theroux’s and McDole’s had a little trouble with their GPS’s so we arrived just after them.
