Jun 11, 2014 - Just a Quick Update

Just wanted to give everyone a quick update. First of all we are still in Oregon and we are back at the same campground on the Deschutes River. It is so peaceful and beautiful, in spite of all the trains. We arrived here yesterday afternoon and hoped to be able to stay for 3-4 days but due to all the reservations by the week end camper crowd we could only get two nights. So we will be moving on tomorrow morning. We will be heading to Cascade Peaks RV Park in Randle, WA. We are going to stay there for a week, maybe two, depending how much we...

Jun 11, 2013 - Lepage Park

This morning was a bit overcast, but no rain. We got everything ready for travel and I drove the motorhome while Bev drove the car to the nearby Costco for fuel and a few grocery items. Okay, at this point it is really Lake Wallula but the further up we got the more we could feel the current. We hit the road and traveled along the north / Washington side of the river. Not a lot of Lewis and Clark stops, in fact there weren’t any. At this point, the Corps is really making progress toward the Pacific. . These points are still ahead of us though. As we traveled along today we came around a...

Mar 31, 2008 - Biggs, Oregon

The last day of the month finds us ending the day on the Columbia River at the Deschutes River State Park in Oregon. After a wonderful dinner and a couple of glasses of red wine, I can finally sit back and reflect on the day. We woke this morning to about 3 or 4 inches of fresh snow all over. I walked the dogs and dragged my heels, thinking we were pretty well stuck where we were until the snow melted, however, by the time I returned to the trailer, the temperature was going up and the snow was quickly disappearing. After a brief...
