Oct 13-16:Big Bend NP, TX- spent 4 nights here at the campground near the Rio Grande. We took a few day hikes but did not buy any of the trinkets, walking sticks, etc. that some Mexican nationals leave on the trails. On one hike we encountered Victor, the “Mexican singing Jesus”. After telling him we were sure we did not want to buy, he returned in his canoe to a ramada on the other side of the river, where he continued work on his “souvenoirs”. Oct 12, 2011 - Oct 12, 2011 Update

Sept. 23: toured through Colorado National Monument. Highly recommended! Arrived at Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park. A lightly-visited park but very beautiful. The canyon is over 2000 feet deep in places! (We did not hike to the bottom.) Sept. 25: drove through Monarch Pass where fall was already in the air- and the Aspen leaves. Arrived at Cheyenne Mountain State Park (where 'NORAD' LIVES DEEP INSIDE) and where we met up with Bess and Nate Clemmer. We enjoyed pizza overlooking the south part of Colorado Springs and Fort...

Sept.7-11,2011: Casey’s RV Park, West Fir, OR. Born Free motorcoach Rally- "Covered Bridges of Lane County".16 Born Free coaches present from OR, WA, ID, CA, AK. Sept.11: Overnight at Virgin Valley Campground (Sheldon Nat. Wildlife Refuge) in northern NV. Rustic showers and swimming pool from a hotspring! Sept. 12: Overnight in West Wendover, NV in a parking lot with lots of trucker friends. Sept. 13-15: at Salt Lake City KOA. Visited with Kirk and Kat Thrift. Aug 11, 2009 - FINALY on the road

Gordon Writes: We're 400+ miles into the trip. Arrived at Harrison Hot Springs after 6 hours up I-5. Vicki was expecting a Kah-Ne-Tah, type hot springs, not quite. Just your basic public pool, with lots of chlorine, and some sulphur smell. ; 0. A Heading on up the road a few more hrs. to find a place to camp. pictures tonight.
