Oct 13, 2013 - keystone state park

We drove our 300 miles today and ended up at Keystone state park in Oklahoma. We stopped in Pratt ks to go by bills parents graves which we had not seen for a couple of years. His father's gravestone was seen for the first time and it had been done very beautifully. We drove out to the Pratt air force base where Big Bill had been stationed in WW2 and were very impressed with the area and the history. It was very moving to read about the B29 fighters who helped win the WW2. Lots of road was covered to make it to Oklahoma after seeing Pratt ....

Jan 5, 2011 - Keeping a record of our trips

Now that we are geezers its easy to forget where we stayed on our last trip or the name of that resturant in Tucancari where I had a great meal of liver and onions. So to combat ever increasing senior monents, we have decided to create a record of our travels. It will be a diary we can look back at to refresh our memory and a way to let our family and friends do a little vicarious traveling.

May 17, 2008 - Indian Reservaton

Nothing of great importance tonight, as we are traveling west towards Hutchinson, Kansas. We stayed tonight on the Osage Indian Reservation, in Sand Spring, just outside of Tulsa, Ok. So far my repair to the compartment door latch is still holding. When we get to Colorado Springs for a week, we will have parts overnighted to us them.

Nov 23, 1990 - Keystone State Park, Oklahoma

Traveled from Indianapolis/Plainfield to Springfield, Illinois on 1-36. Inka has calmed down quite a bit. She has found her "spot", underneath Jan's seat. Spent the night in a K-Mart parking lot. Did the YRE trails in St. Louis and Ellisville, Missouri. Nice trails, but it started raining on us before we got finished at Ellisville. Left Ellisville and headed southwest on US 44. Tried to get into Meramec Caverns Campground, but it was closed. Raining to beat the band! Filled up our water tank and drained gray water. We spent the night in...
