May 15, 2013 - Across Oklahoma on Route 66

On the road early. Straight south to I-40 and Tulsa, Oklahoma. After passing through Tulsa we got off the interstate and followed RTE 66 to Oklahoma City. Marilyn wanted to go to Russ's ribs in Bristow but when we arrived we found that it had closed. Ate lunch in the trailer in a church parking lot. The disappointing thing was that 10 miles before Bristow we had stopped for gas and noticed a BBQ place across the road. Locals we going in for lunch. We considered it but decided to go to Bristow. Bad decision. Back on I-40 around Oklahoma...

A day of extremes in Oklahoma City - Tuesday, October 6 On the morning of April 19, 1995 a bomb exploded in Oklahoma City. From that moment on nothing in this country has ever been the same. Now, fourteen years later we are in Oklahoma City, and we find we are as reluctant to visit the site of the bombing as we were to visit the World Trade Center when we were in New York City last summer. Sep 12, 2007 - South Dakota to Oklahoma

September 4, 2007: We found HOT! The scenery improved for a little while as we left Sheridan on I-90 and crossed Wyoming. No longer did we just have rolling plains to look at; we actually had some low hills to break up the monotony. We also began to notice the grasses were getting greener the further east we traveled. Since Sturgis, SD was right in our pathway, Wendell insisted we stop and tour the motorcycle museum. I wasn't too keen on the idea, but went along and surprisingly enjoyed it.
